In loving memory of Alma Leonora Cato who sadly passed away on 15th October 2019.
Alma Cato also known as Auntie Cato, Auntie Alma and Sister Cato was born on the 29th June 1936 in Calliaqua, St Vincent, West Indies. Alma came to the UK in the early 60's where she first lived in South Norwood, then moved to the Shrublands estate before moving to Forestdale with her son Rudolph who sadly passed away in 1997. Alma worked in a residential care home "Brigstock Manor" for many years before she retired in the 90's. Alma attended the West Croydon Baptist church for many years before moving to a church in Peckham.
Not only did Alma love attending church, she also loved music and attended many parties where she would be first on the dance floor and as she got older and was not mobile, she would rock to the music in the chair at what ever event she was attending.
Alma loved to celebrate both birthday and Christmas and spent every Christmas since Rudy passed with the King family. She enjoyed spending from Christmas Eve until Boxing Day with us and extended family.
Aunt Cato favourite word was "something good is happening to you and family " and this was also written in both birthday and Christmas cards.
Everyone who knew Alma loved her for her smiles her great character and such a loving lady. She was a very very popular lady.
Alma, Auntie Cato, you will be sadly missed. May you RIP xx
