In loving memory of Margaret Thompson who sadly passed away on 14th October 2019

Ian Twigg wrote

I will miss our little emails, laughs and secrets shared. You were a good friend and counsellor, always looking out for my interests and those of others ahead of yourself. You often reminded me to look after Mother or that her actions were in my best interest, like shouting up the stairs each morning to wake me on university days (and most others). Easy to see the reasoning now ! Adieu, mon tante, adieu.

  • Thank you cousin Ian. Your kind words mean a lot. She always did look after all of us.

It will be good to see the "Twins" back together again as I know they will have missed each other dreadfully. I always thought they modelled themselves on Princess Elizabeth and Margaret not least for the superlative telephone voices. I will let them decide who was who!

  • Yes. When your mum was suffering from dementia, Mum phoned her as usual each evening and asked Muriel if she knew who she was. Muriel said, “yes, you’re part of me.” Made and makes me cry..

From Hazel to Ian. "I am the last one left of 5.... Not a nice position to be in, especially at 92! Thank goodness for friends and family, and I count you among them."
Too true and whilst you leave many behind that will miss you, I am so happy you can return to those near and dear to you that already departed. Say hi to Mum, Dad and Judy for me.

Dawlish Warren in circa 1992 with Hazel, Ian and Caroline. Ian remembers the trip fondly and not least for the remarkable back seat driving skills of Muriel and Hazel combined !

The Thompson and Twigg clan at Ian's Christening in circa Aug 1964. The last of the Matriarchs will be sorely missed.
