Franks was one of 5 children, born in Mansfield 1940. He followed his father joining Sherwood colliery at 15 years of age, working there for 35 years. at a young age Frank became the President of Sherwood NUM and remained this until his retirement.
Frank Married Tina at the age of 20 and they have been together to this day.
Having 3 children, Pam, Frank and Alan. family and friends was the most important part of Franks life.

After leaving the pits Frank and Tina started their new chapter of life taking on the job role of Landlord and Landlady, taking on 3 pubs ( Kings Head, Horse and Jockey and Royal Oak) Frank made many friends, friendships that would never be broken.
after a spell of poor health full retirement was needed and Frank enjoyed this extra time with his family and new friends in his local Pub (Blue Bell) this retirement allowed Frank to enjoy his grandchildren and the time he had with his brother Ken Worboys.
Frank Worboys sadly passed away on 13th October 2019. Frank had been unwell and in Hospital since 7th September, during this time his closest family was with him.

Frank was one in a million, they certainly broke the mould when they made him. He was a kind caring person who could always make you laugh, no matter what topic was being talked about Frank would turn it into a amusing story ( usually Pit related ) I have fond memories of him sat on the back doorstep of the Jockey, Sunday morning, peeling spuds and prepping veg. As he always said Pit man, 35 yrs man and boy, ha ha. My thoughts are with Tina and the family, he will be sadly missed by all.
