In loving memory of Simon Glasby who sadly passed away on 18th September 2019

I went to Mortimer Wilson secondary school with Simon. I remember him as always friendly, approachable and with good sense of humour. Enjoyed learning to rock climb and pothole with him when we were in the sixth form. Sadly lost touch as I moved away from the area. Pleased that I met up with him once more by chance in March 2019 at a school reunion in the Wagon & Horses, Alfreton. Thank you for all the good times we shared Simon.

We were at Mortimer Wilson's together - in the same class. He was one of the sweetest, kindest man you might ever have the joy of knowing. In looking at those photos, he had not changed much at all...still the same lovely cheeky genuine smile. Such a shock to see he has died. The world was better for having him in it, and sadder now he has gone.

Words really can't express how much I will miss him xx he may have been just my cousin in name but he was more of a brother to me, my confidante, my protector, my hero. The most caring, kind and unjudgemental man anyone could ever met. We miss him with all our hearts. He will be in our thoughts and memories until we meet again in the next life. He really us an Alfreton Legend - never to be forgotten. Love you cus xx

The tragic loss of Simon will impact many people who knew him. Simon knew lots of people around the Alfreton area, and many people lost a gentle, intelligent friend on 18th September. Rest In Peace old buddy.
