In loving memory of Robin 'Albert' Hutchings who sadly passed away on 16th September 2019
Robin was an exceptional son, brother, dad, uncle, grandad and great-grandad.
He was from humble beginnings at No 3 Pardys Hill, Corfe Mullen with his mum Jessie, dad Arthur, 4 brother's George, Bill, Bob and Brian and young sister Yvonne. All the Hutchings children attended Lockyers School as did many of the generations to follow. His schooling and tertiary education as an apprentice electrician would lead him to become a very successful Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer which took him all over the world. It also enabled him to achieve one of his life's ambitions of designing and building his and our beloved four-bedroom home "Two R's" in Sleight Lane, Corfe Mullen.
Corfe Mullen was a very close-knit community where everyone would smile and exchange greetings while asking how each other's families were keeping and if necessary, volunteering to assist if help was required. The close-knit community spirit of the village was instilled in the Hutchings family, all of whom would do anything to help someone out. This willingness to assist was highlighted in the years before his passing by the amount of love, time and effort dad put into assisting one of his 3 sons, Garry and his family while Garry bravely fought Leukemia while at the same time, also assisting his daughter's youngest daughter Freya as she also battled Leukemia. Dad put life on hold to ensure that the family as a whole; sons Tony, Garry, Dean and sister, Nathalie and stepson Shawn and all their families were supported and loved in times of great turmoil, stress and heartache. Garry, unfortunately, passed away 3 years ago but brave Freya is now 3 years in remission and going strong. During this time he still found time to regularly help his neighbours, including Chrissie who is the grand old age of 99.
In life, dad was hardworking, determined, a champion of the people, gracious, polite and fun-loving. He was also a true modern-day explorer whether for work or on one of his 3 Harley-Davidson motorcycles and has visited over 40 countries in his lifetime.
Our family managed to spend quality time with dad in the months and weeks before he went into Forest Holme Hospice and have many more fond memories to hold dear to our hearts than those we have of his 76 years spent with us.
Robin Hutchings; brother, dad, uncle, grandad, great-grandad, friend, traveller and biker will be greatly missed, fondly remembered and always in the hearts of those who knew him.
Love eternally,
Tony & Miriam, Donna, Dean & Monika, Nathalie & Neil, Shawn & Emma and families
