In loving memory of Robert John Buckner who sadly passed away on 24th August 2019.
Bob was born in Walthamstow in 1937, he moved to Canvey when he was a child and met his wife Kathleen in 1957, they were married for 57 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. He had a wonderful sense of humour, he was vibrant, honest, protective and loving. Bob joined the Merchant Navy when he was 16 and then went on to do his National Service. He was a builder for many years, he built many houses on Canvey and South Benfleet. He had many interests during his life including boxing, karate, judo and golf.
In the last few months of his life his health deteriorated significantly with what we now know was High Grade Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, Macmillan Cancer Support helped us, guided and supported us with some very difficult issues and fought for Bob along with his family to get him appropriate care at the end of his life. Please help us to raise money by giving whatever you can afford so they can continue to help other families like us.

I will always remember my Uncle Bob for his kindness & great sense of humour. As I was growing up, I was fortunate to spend time with him & Aunt Kath. They were always my favourite Auntie & Uncle and enjoyed their company. He will be dearly missed. Xx
