In loving memory of Peggy Farrell who sadly passed away on 16th August 2019. A very dear Mum, Grandma and Great Grandma who was loved by all and will be sadly missed yet never forgotten.
Born in Forest Gate she grew up in her family home which backed onto her fathers bakery. Mum recounted stories of helping her father with bread deliveries and driving the bakers van at a very young age which was very daunting for her. There were many stories of the bombing raids through the war and some very near misses her family home took. This resulted in Mum being evacuated to Brentwood in Essex.
Eventually her whole family left the east end of London to take residence in Leigh on Sea.
Mum had kept contact with a school classmate from Forest Gate, Bernard, who after many years of courtship tied the knot at St Clements Church in Leigh on Sea in 1952. This was a very loving, secure partnership which provided a very happy home life to their 3 sons Andrew, David and Mark.
Sadly Bernard died suddenly in 1983 and Mum's life was shattered. Being the strong person she was, she coped yet always wanted to remain in the family home which held so many memories for her.
Mum had many friends who were dear to her and showed much kindness to all. She was always there when people needed support and help. She will be remembered for this I am sure. In her older years, she was troubled by various health issues but despite all the challenges which came her way she was always cheerful. An admirable quality.
Mum was a regular attender at St Clements Church and supported many church functions. Having been married at St Clements, been an active partner of its congregation, it seems befitting that there will now be a service held for her to celebrate her life.

The service will take place at 11.00am at St Clements Church on Thursday 12th September. All are welcome.
It was Mum's wish that there should be family flowers only. She was a keen supporter of the two chosen charities (British Heart Foundation and Action for Hearing) should you wish to contribute in her memory.

My lasting memories of auntie Peggy are of a very kind and caring lady who always had time for her nieces and nephews. Rest in peace and enjoy being reunited with uncle Bernard.
