I have so many fond memories of my Nanny. They started with one of my earliest memories, travelling to Nanny and Gramps’ home in Whitstable on the back of Dad’s motorbike, on a gloriously sunny day. Just before we left for home it started to rain so Nanny fashioned me a waterproof overcoat out of a bin liner to keep me dry and warm! I also remember her Christmas dinners being epic! She introduced me to classical music with her music box that played a Roderigo song, that is still a favourite of mine to this day. I remember my police pass out day that she attended proudly, stopping the assistant chief constable as he passed her, informing him that I was I third-generation Kent police officer!
Even as her health faded she had a special twinkle in her eye that always made me smile.
I will miss her a lot, but will always remember happy times spent with her, Gramps and the rest of my family.
Sleep well Nanny and have sweet dreams x

I have happy memories of Auntie Joan and family joining us in Blackpool for holidays when we were children . I also enjoyed a visit with her the last time I had a holiday in Kent. Best wishes to all the family.
