In loving memory of Eileen Lilian Jones who sadly passed away on 13th July 2019. In her last weeks we discovered mum had cancer in her lungs which took her quite quickly, so in remembrance of mum any donations recieved will be sent to Cancer Research UK to fight and end this terrible illness.
Eileen Jones was a loving mother to two sons and devoted wife to James Albert Jones who departed in 1990. Through her sons they provided her with four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters and a brother. Eileen was born and raised in the East End of London. But spent five of the war years in Clevedon Somerset after her mum moved her and her siblings away from the blitz. These are years she cherished. On return to London she literally met and married the ‘boy next door’ and they shared the rest of their lives together from that time until his passing. Mum started life in the rag trade and became a court dress maker until she changed careers to insurance with Sedgewick Forbes in the city of London. These are working times she always remembered fondly. After retirement she and her husband Jim bought their first house in Withernsea, East Riding and set about enjoying retired life until Jim sadly past away suddenly in 1990, way too soon for them both. She returned back south to Shoeburyness and made many new friends including those from the Catholic Church. Over the following years she travelled greatly around the world visiting many countries most of us would only dream about. She was a confident and strong woman who enjoyed life to the full and will be sadly missed.
