In loving memory of Anne Patricia Bullough who sadly passed away on 11th July 2019.
After being diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer on the 21st May this year, Anne had a short but very brave battle against this terrible disease. Anyone that knew Anne knew what a strong independent lady she was, and she called on all of that strength to keep as positive as she could for her family and friends throughout the seven weeks leading up to her death.
Anne was discharged from hospital a week following her diagnosis, she was desperate to get home in time for Kerry’s birthday the following day. With the support of the Macmillan nurses, District nurses and Marie Curie, as a family we were able to care for her at home. This time together strengthened bonds which were already close, and gave us opportunities (many between the hours of 1am and 5am) to reminisce on days gone by and express our love and gratitude towards each other. Anne was so lucky she had a network of support and love around her from her daughter Kerry, brother Tony, sister in law and very close friend Wendy, cousins Bridget and Natasha, and not forgetting her very best friend of 65 years Diane. Between us we ensured that Anne was never left alone in the house and never wanted for a thing, it was a demonstration of how very much she is loved by so many and how she has touched so many lives through her time here on earth.
Following 3 weeks at home it became clear that Anne needed to spend some time at Myton hospice. It was expected that she would be home again within a week or two but sadly this was not to be. We cannot praise the staff at Myton high enough, they cared for Anne like family and also took time to look out for the welfare of the rest of the family. Anne loved sitting on the patio outside her room with Kerry and John watching Sam and Finn playing in the gardens, the hospice had a real feeling of home.
Anne wanted her funeral to be a celebration of her life; the last 8 weeks have been a rollercoaster of emotions and full of pain and upset, it is now time to let go of that pain and be grateful for the times we all shared with her and celebrate her very nearly 70 years, knowing that she is free from the suffering and reunited with her husband Mick and her Mum and Dad.
At Anne's request, could anyone attending the funeral, kindly wear bright coloured clothes, (providing they feel comfortable to do so), to celebrate her life. Anne loved her flowers and had always said that she wanted loads for her funeral, we have also added a donation button for the wonderful Myton hospice if you feel you would like to support this amazing charity.
We would like to invite anyone that knew Anne to St Marie’s church, Rainsbrook crematorium and afterwards for a garden party at Brownsover Hall Hotel.
