In loving memory of John Biddles 81 from Markfield who sadly passed away on 4th July 2019 at approximately 01.15am after having a major bleed on the brain causing a stroke. He slipped into a coma immediately following the stroke, but sadly never recovered.
He was having a lovely holiday in his favourite place, the Isle of Wight, with his family around him, even having a walk along the beach and a pint of shandy in the morning of the day that the stroke happened.
We are eternally grateful to the Palliative Nurse, from the Earl Mountbatten Hospice in the Isle of Wight who pushed to get John back to Leicester, arranging a bed at the LRI and the transport. She even travelled with him to ensure that he was in the best care, and regularly texting us with an update on the journey. Earl Mountbatten Hospice relies heavily on charitable funds to continue with the amazing work they do, which is why we have chosen them as our charity for any kind donations.
We would also like to thank all the staff in the Stroke Unit at Newport Hospital in the Isle of Wight, who ensured John was kept comfortable, but also took great care of us as well.
Please post any memories, comments, photographs, etc, or light a candle in his memory.
The funeral service is being held at Loughborough Crematorium, Leicester Road, Loughborough, LE11 2AF at 2.45pm on Thursday 18th July 2019 and a small buffet/tea is being held at The Cedars Hotel opposite the Crematorium and you are more than welcome to join us.
