A little poem wrote for Anne while travelling to glasgow today
Today I’ve come to say goodbye,
and that is very tough,
But I have so many memories,
that will help me when things get rough.
We spent many a wonderful summer,
on the labadough road,
getting up to mischief 🤫
between Bridget’s house and ours.
Skipping stones on lough O’Donnell,
a walk along the bourne,
climbing up lough salt mountain,
as fast as our little legs could turn.
You were always so kind and funny,
and your laugh was something else,
you would light up any room,
with your smile and presence.
I still can’t believe I won’t see you again,
or receive your funny jokes,
You gave a lot of laughs,
To a lot of folks.
But your journey has come to an end,
And I know it’s far too soon,
Look over your beautiful children,
Who I know you loved to the moon.
Now you are reunited with Denis,
I know you missed him so very much,
you can keep each other company,
with a drink, a chat and such.
Although you’ll never be forgotten,
the time has come for us to part,
I have all my precious memories,
And you’ll be forever in my heart...
Rest easy Anne xx
