In memory of my uncle Richard. To happy memories growing up surrounded by mum and dad, grandparents, aunties and uncles and cousins. I send my sympathies to Auntie Marion, Peter, Julia and Paul, and their families. x
Richard Robinson (17 Mar 1944 - 1 Jul 2019)
Funeral Director
In loving memory of Richard Robinson who sadly passed away very suddenly on 1st July 2019.
Richard was born in Derby on 17th March 1944 to parents Sidney and Evelyn Robinson, one of five children sister Marie and three brothers Noel, John and Steven.
Richard attended Olive Eden secondary school where he met and later married his beloved wife Marion on 15th November 1961 they went onto have three children of their own Peter, Julia and Paul.
On leaving school at 15 Richard entered the family business S Robinson & Sons that his father Sidney had built and became an Industrial and Agricultural Engineer attending night school to achieve welding and design qualifications. Amongst some of his proudest achievements were the Louella Pigeon Lofts and Louella Stud complex in Leicestershire for the Massarella family and the first of its kind indoor gallop arena for racehorse trainer Luca Cumani in Newmarket.
1986 saw Richard break away from S Robinson & Sons to build his own family business Richard Robinson & Sons, with Richard at the helm, Marion as Company Secretary, Peter and Paul manufacturing and erecting and Julia as his PA the company grew into a successful business.
In 2002 Richard and Marion retired and emigrated to the sunny island of Tenerife where they spent six very happy years but the pull of family and grandchildren became too much and they returned to life in the UK.
Settling once again in Derbyshire Richard pulled his boots back on always ready to fix, decorate, build and lend a hand to all family and friends that needed his services.
In his spare time Richard loved to read, enjoyed the challenge of a good crossword and spent many happy hours tending his garden.
He will be sorely missed by Marion, Peter, Julia and Paul, his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marion and family would very much like you to join them after the service to help celebrate Richards life at The Horseshoes, Long Lane DE6 5BJ
