On Sunday 23rd June 2019 Joyce, a strong, independent, determined, generous, caring, loving mother and Wife died in hospital after a short severe illness.
Joyce was born in Durham in 1940 into a large family.
Joyce started working at the age of 15 as a shop assistant in a bookshop in Durham, she went on to gather secretarial experience and from the age of 21 worked at Durham Chemicals until 1969 when she went to work for the United Nations. In 1970 at the age of 28 Joyce went to teacher training college and began a career in further education teaching secretarial skills. For many years she taught at Hinckley College.
Joyce had many interests including flower arranging, calligraphy, drawing and watercolor painting. She was active with the girl guiding association running a guide unit for several years and a brownie unit for a short time.
Joyce was a loving wife to Peter, mother of Catherine and Christine and grandmother to William, Adam, Emily, Eva and Holly. Sister and Aunt.
Joyce was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Family Funeral will be at rainsbrook Crematorium Rugby - Drayton Chapel at 12.30 Thursday 11th July Followed by a service of memory and celebration for the life of Joyce at 1.30pm at St.Peters and St.John's Church, Clifton Road, Rugby.
Family flowers only please but if desired donations in memory of Joyce may be made to The Friends of St. Cross Charity or St. Peter and St. John's Church.
Please feel free to wear colours other than black in celebration of Joyce's life.
