Betty May Hughes (4 Aug 1935 - 12 Jun 2019)
In loving memory of Betty May Hughes who sadly passed away on 12th June 2019
A loving mother of 9 children and a step daughter she had her hands full. To ensure she was kept busier, mum had many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Born in 1935, mum lived through the war along with her brother Frank and was evacuated with all the children in the UK to a safe haven. Great Yarmouth then became her home where she lived bringing up her first 7 children in a 5 bedroom terraced house. Working long hours in factories and bars most of her life just to put food on the table and clothes on her children's back took up most of her time.
In 1974 she met her beloved Cliff who she always said was THE ONE. She had another son in 1975 bearing him a younger brother one year after.
In 1985 the family of 4 moved to Gorleston on Sea which is still their family home to this day. After losing her beloved in 2005 she was heartbroken. Living alone in the house was also worrying for her 2 sons who called or visited everyday to make sure she was coping.
After a while she began socialising more at her regular social club
