In loving memory of Elsie St. Louis, who sadly passed away on 27th May 2019.
Her funeral will be held at Southend Crematorium on Monday 17th June at 1 pm.
Our mum was admitted to hospital on Saturday with a leg infection which led to sepsis. Her system gradually shut down, and she passed at 8.30 Monday morning. A shock for us, but at least she avoided the suffering that our failing bodies can cause us.
She was self-sufficient right up to the Friday; following her routine of cleaning, tending to her cats, doing her crossword, and shouting at most politicians who appeared on TV. Mum led a simple life, content with her life, and not subject to the materialistic desires of today’s society.
Mum missed the people she had lost; her sisters Mick and Kath, her brother Bill, and of course, our dad Saint. She would often say how she missed talking to her sister Mick. Our uncle Lionel still spoke with her every Sunday, and they would swap information about their respective families.
Our mum had lots to say about life in wartime Britain, and it’s sad that she passed just before the 75th anniversary of D-day. This was an awesome generation. We will not see their like again.
As mum was not keen on flowers we would ask people who want to make a donation to please make it through this site to either the World Wildlife Fund or the Cats protection league.
Thank you everyone for your kind messages at this sad time,
Laurence, Adrian, and Lisa.
