Ellen Woodham (19 Mar 1928 - 26 May 2019)

My Mum, Ellen, died peacefully on the 26th May 2019, at the Abbeyfield residential home in Taunton, with me beside her. She was a vibrant character who lived life to the full and was known for speaking her mind. She could also be immensely supportive of her friends, courageous in challenging circumstances and I could not have wished for a more loving Mother.
Born in 1928, she spent her working life as a teacher, much of it at the Ridgeway School in Sanderstead. In retirement she moved to Oxted and threw herself into numerous activities with her late husband Tony, including folk dancing, bowls, bridge and voluntary work. Sociable, determined and well known for her organisational skills and ‘lists’, she was devoted to her family and will be remembered fondly by those who knew her.
According to her wishes there will not be a funeral service but donations in her memory may be made to Dementia UK
