Joan Day (20 Aug 1921 - 23 May 2019)

In loving memory of Joan Day who sadly passed away on 23rd May 2019

Mum was 97 having been born Joan Barringer she was soon taken in by Richard and Maria Hughes and only knew her mother as Aunty Hilder until the age of about 10.

Mum always said she didn't have any roots or family however we have discovered a half blood brother living in Australia who is 13 years younger but alas Mum was not able to comprehend this fact due to dementia.

Mum's quality of life had not been good for a couple of years and in the last few months she was confined to bed and the great attention she received at the Herons Care Home in Toton.
