Even though I met Rita very late in her life, when I was asked by her family to administer the Catholic Last Rites of the Sacrament of the Sick, as her Parish Priest, it was evident to me that Rita was a person of deep faith, enduring hope and profound love. Not just for Danny and Ita and Kathy but also for the many friends, neighbours and parishioners of St. Gertrude’s Parish who have mourned her death BUT also gave thanks to God, for her life. So as we remember Rita on this 1st Anniversary of her death, let us always particularly remember at that as the whole world tries to maintain life in the midst of this Coronavirus that has caused so much pain and sadness, only love for God, our neighbour and ourselves will help us to live life as fully as Rita did. Regards & God bless Rita. Fr. John McGrory (St. Gertrude's)
St. John 11:25-26 - Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though they die, yet shall they live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.
