Many thanks.

In loving memory of Mafalda Fappiano who sadly passed away on 14th May 2019 aged 71 years. Devoted wife of the late Giovanni. Much loved mum of Marco and Jo. A dear Nonna, sister, mother in law, aunt and friend to many. Mafalda will be fondly remembered by all that knew her.

Born in Sept 1947 in San Lorenzello, Province of Benevento,Italy, one of four daughters to Giuseppe & Ilde Federico.
Mafalda came to the UK in 1968 shortly after her wedding to Giovanni and they settled in Derby, mainly Littleover for many years with their two children and subsequently the latter years in Mickleover.
Mafalda's working career involved times at Qualcast,St George's School,Posthouse (Crest) Hotel and most recently Derby Royal Hospital until her retirement.
More memorable and significant is when Mafalda & Giovanni purchased the Cake Shop on Stenson Road in Littleover, bringing their passion for real Italian homemade cooking & baking to the people of Littleover and beyond.
In 1992 Giovanni passed away suddenly aged 51 leaving Mafalda, Giovanna & Marco to continue running the business.

Mafalda loved and took great pride in her allotment and regularly harvested an abundance of fabulous fruits and vegetables for family and friends. We've never eaten so many Courgettes!

Her dedication and love to her grandchildren was apparent each and every day and loved nothing more than having them all together baking/cooking,but above all having fun!.
She will be sadly missed by one and all.

Flowers welcome. In Lieu of flowers you may want donate towards two very relevant and important causes. Every little helps.
Collection boxes will be at the Church and the Celebration of Life after.

We'd love you to share your memories, photos, in fact anything relevant to Mafalda's memory , we'd love to see them.

I remember Valda from her days at Qualcast as one of the kitchen team. Along with Annie, my mum Edna, Mim and Kath, they were a great team. Now they are all reunited. Rest in peace Valda, one of the kindest people I have ever known. Alison
