THE BLACKBIRD by William Ernest Henley
The nightingale has a lyre of gold;
The lark's is a clarion call,
And the blackbird plays but a box-wood flute,
But I love him best of all.
For his song is all the joy of life,
And we in the mad, spring weather,
We too have listened till he sang
Our hearts and lips together.
On behalf of myself and my mum Mary Gwendoline Harness who sadly passed away on 11th May 2019 I'd like to say a thank-you to all the family and friends who attended the funeral service and reception especially Harold and Julie and also Pat and Lin.
I would also like to thank the staff on the Respiratory Team, Louth; Air-Liquide most notably Lee; all the staff on the Amethyst Ward Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, GY.; and Cathy, John and the staff at the Lincolnshire Coop Funeral Care. The charity money collected and sent to the charities by the Coop: £149.41 to Lincs/Notts Air Ambulance Charitable Trust (LNAACT) and £149.50 to the Royal Society for the Protection against the Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA)
A very special thanks to Michael Green who conducted the funeral service.
