In loving memory of Walter Steedman who sadly passed away peacefully, after a short illness on 13th May 2019

Katrina, I am so very sorry to find out just today about Walter's passing. I was Walter's Canadian friend back in 1976-77 at McMaster University in Hamilton. I had mentioned to Walter last year that I would visit you both one day and in fact have been planning a trip to France, England and of course Scotland this April. I have so many great memories of hanging out with Walter and I was looking so forward to meeting up with him this spring. I am so sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this Christmas season.

Walter was a fantastic mentor for me during my teaching degree at Glasgow University. He was a wonderful man who put everyone at ease and I couldnt have done it without him. He will be sorely missed and my thoughts and condolences go out to his family and all that knew him.

I have very fond memories of being taught by Walter at my time in Hermitage, from Higher to CSYS Modern Studies. He brought humour and topical examples to his lessons, which made them thoroughly enjoyable. I often thought of him and I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with his family at this incredibly sad time.
