My darling dear daddy, well it was certainly a day just for you and we cried, laughed and cried some more. I gave you what I promised, your final wash, shave and smart suit with all the paraphernalia you had earned ,an RAF drape ,a wreath and your final salute that you so readily deserve . You have lived the life of a 100 men and more and what stories you told us. Your greatest wealth was as you so often said was your family . I made sure they were here for you and mum.as you daughter I am so PROUD to say you are my daddy my protector my hero my world. Have time with your boys and I will be on the ship when my time arrives without fear or trepidation as I know you will be waiting for me.
All my heartfelt love
Mandy X X X X X X X X X

Grief, hits me at times I can’t control, indiscriminate of how and when. Today, your darling daughter Mandy washed and dressed you for your final journey with no doubt so much dignity giving the rest of us the final memory of a very proud man, our JJ. Mandy, thank you. We will be with you Friday Daddy to say our final farewell. My heart is breaking but know you are with your boys Ian and Stephen and at peace. Your beautiful daughter Bridget will read your eulogy with pride and passion. Whenever I see a butterfly I will know you are with us.

Daddy Lol, I love you and miss you. 10th will see you on your final re-org. During all of your years in the RAF and indeed afterwards you took the greatest care of us, your family, your wife, sons and daughters. Now it is out time to take care of you. Daddy, our beautiful butterfly, fly easy on your final flight but keep flitting amongst us who love you. We will cry for you on the 10th but we will also celebrate you my darling, darling daddy.
