In loving memory of David Charles Podevin who sadly passed away on 5th April 2019. He fought a brief battle with an aggressive form of leukaemia for 7 weeks in Swindon's Great Western Hospital.

David leaves behind his wife Lorna and three children, Claire, Richard and Robert.

He spent 27 years in British Army (Major in the Royal Signals) retiring to Sheffield in 1989 to work for St Thomas' church as an administrator and treasurer. In 2001 he moved to E.Sussex to work for Ashburnham Place (Christian retreat centre) and finally Crowhurst Christian Healing Centre. In 2012 he fully retired from work and moved to Highworth in Wilts.

I worked with David in the Royal Signals for a year in about 1968 and met him occasionally over the next 15 years.
I always thought he was undervalued and a very nice fellow. I hope he had a parry life - he deserved it.

  • Hi Bill, Thanks for your message. I think by the end of his Army career his accomplishments and certainly his integrity was more valued. He raised a loving family - so I reckon that equates to a happy life!
