In loving memory of John David Stewart Turner who sadly passed away on 9th March 2019
We have chosen the following 2 charities if you would like to make a donation. Flowers will be for family only.
Southend Hospital : John has been here many many times over the last 3 years. From his cardiac arrest in June 2016, which involved A&E, Critical Care and Sita Lumsden Ward, his hydrocephalus in November 2016, which involved A&E, a transfer to Queen's hospital in Romford, then back to Southend with a stay on Blenheim Ward, to his many visits for outpatient appointments in Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Neurology and the Sleep Clinic. Unfortunately in February he was admitted to Southend for the last time with a 17 night stay in critical care following a brain hemorrhage. Dad has made great use of our wonderful NHS, and it would be good to give something back in his memory.
SADS UK : This is a charity for Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome. SADS UK Helps Save Lives, informing the public and health professionals of symptoms of Heart Conditions that can cause a Sudden Arrhythmic Death (SADS) if not detected and treated. The charity donates cardiac equipment and defibrillators in the community and supports research into SADS. John's life was saved in 2016 by paramedics using a defibrillator. This gave us an additional 21 months with him that we otherwise would not have had. There are many people who have healthy lives who can go into Sudden Cardiac arrest, and we would like to help those individuals and their families.
