In loving memory of Walter James Scott who sadly passed away on 20th March 2019.

My darling dad (Wally) sadly passed away on 20th March after a short illness surrounded by his family. Dad was not in any pain and myself (his only child, Fran) and my daughter were with him right at the end. Dad's family were his life and he would have loved that we were there to comfort him at the end.

My dad was an amazing father and was always my 'go to guy'. If my mum had already told me 'no', I always knew my dad would say 'yes'. He wasn't much of a talker on the phone and his most important question to me was 'if your alright, then I'm alright'. So long as he knew I, my daughter's and our partners were all ok, he was a happy man.

The celebrant called round today to discuss your service on the 12th and we have some great stories for him to tell. You would have liked him dad. We'll do you proud.

Hi dad. It's 9 weeks today since you passed and they have been the longest 9 weeks ever. We are getting on with life but it is hard knowing I won't see you or hear your voice again. I know you would want us all to carry on and not be sad but we are. You are so loved. Caroline went to see mum last weekend and they took cards, flowers, a candle and a little bottle of whiskey to the crematorium to remember you on your 89th birthday. I didn't come. It was too hard. I'll visit you very soon when I come up to see mum next. It's still so new and doesn't always feel real. I talk to you every day. I hope you can hear me. I pray you can. I miss you and love you dad xxx

Hi dad. Its nearly 4 weeks now since you left us. We had your funeral last Friday and there were lots of people there. You would have liked the service. We cried, we laughed and we played 'Nice one cyril for you. It was a celebration of your life and one well lived. I am going back to work tomorrow and it feels a little strange, but I have to get back on track. Every time I see a little Robin now, I think it might be you checking up on me. I am ok. Heartbroken, but ok. I found a video of you so I can see you when I want too. Going to buy some bird food and try to encourage the birds into my garden for you. We'll all keep an eye on mum and make sure she is ok too. Love you forever xxx

Hi dad. It's already been two weeks since you left. Not a day goes by when I don't cry with sadness or laugh as I think of you being silly or telling me something funny. Your birds in the garden are getting fat bellies and we have made a little memorial garden for you so mum has something nice and colourful to look at over the summer. I think you would approve. We cleared your room out at Blyford today. It was sad but everyone we spoke too said how lovely you were and they missed you. Mum took biscuits for yours and her friends and had lots of chats. We are looking after mum and keeping her well for you. Love you dad xxx

I worked with Wally for a number of years . And each time our work patterns worked out that we were on the same shift Wally made working in the brewhouse so much joy for he could always make me laugh. Wally was a really nice man , a person who alway remained as joy to work with. Rest in peace my old mate.

Gramps i miss you more than words will ever explain. You were the best grandad we could have ever wished for. Not sure you were too keen on the idea of me at first but you loved me more than is humanly possible you will always be my best friend. I will always remember your silliness and our walks around mortlake and trips to the park. Letting me and Emma sneak sweets before tea and painting hard boiled eggs at Easter. You made me who I am today and you will be with me always. Sweet dreams gramps xxx
