Funeral Director
In loving memory of the late Charles Otter who sadly passed away on 16th February 2015.
Charles Otter was born on 5th November 1927 and Married Constance over 60 years ago on 20th December 1952. He lived locally all his life.
Charles qualified with The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants in 1965 whilst he was working at the National Coal Board and he did it the hard way – by correspondence course. His career soon blossomed as he assumed more senior accounting roles, first with The Metal Box Company and then with Rolls Royce Aerospace in Derby.
In the later years of his career he fulfilled a lifetime ambition by becoming a Lecturer in Accountancy and Business Studies at the West Notts College of Further Education where over a period of 20 years he taught a whole generation of students the finer points of profit and loss accounts and balance sheets.
He was extremely well read and had a passion for classical music eventually graduating from Beethoven Symphonies to string quartets and sonatas. He was a keen gardener and enjoyed tending his shrubs and lawns.
His departure from this life at 87 years of age was thankfully short and comfortable.
Charlie, a man with decent Christian values, was a loyal and caring husband and father and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
