My mum was a very special lady.
I am now 75 and she has been the constant all my life. She has always been very supportive, through both divorce and bereavement when I lost my second wife Molly.
We saw each other very regularly and visited each other often over the years.
She always insisted on treating us when we went on holiday and was always a wonderful source of good advice.
She loved card games and used to play whist, solo and more latterly she and I found much pleasure in playing cribbage against each , win or lose.
My kids and grand kids loved her immensely and loved visiting her, particularly enjoying the mound of sweets and chocolates they could help themselves too.
Her trips to California to visit my late sister and all the family there were major highlights in her life.
Lena, I and all the family were very lucky to have her. God Bless and Rest in Peace, Mum.
Muriel Frances Dawson (21 Oct 1925 - 20 Mar 2019)
In loving memory of Muriel Frances Dawson who passed peacefully away on 20th March 2019, aged 93.
Married to her beloved Stan, they raised three children - Sandra, Michael and Lena. In the years to follow, nineteen grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great, great grand child added so much happiness to her life.
Muriel was known to many of her friends as Moo or, to the countless children she looked after over the years - Auntie Moo.
Muriel was an incredibly sociable lady and the countless visits to her home by many, many friends on very regular occasions, bears testament to that.
In the last two years Muriel became a regular at The North Church in Leicester and was embraced by all who attended.
Muriel’s life was one filled with love and joy.
May she Rest in Peace.
