My dear friend... I don't know what to say that will be big enough and tender enough and insightful enough to represent these feelings, and you. But what I know is that you were yourself - a beautiful and unique woman who I am so glad to have known. Kind, strong, soft and able to include everyone. Your gentle grace, your quiet smile. I miss you. Love Pam X

In loving memory of Pauline Elizabeth HIPKIN
Pauline was born at Barnstaple Hospital on the 10th February 1958, the youngest of Willis and Dorothy Pick's four children. She spent an idyllic childhood in Chulmleigh and later Lapford, where she made many lifelong friends. After finishing her schooling at Queen Elizabeth School, Crediton she moved to London to work at a number of teaching hospitals as a medical secretary.
It was whilst living in London that her three amazing sons were born and they eventually settled in Brixham together. Pauline studied for her Open University Degree and took up teaching, meeting Paul at around the same time. They later moved to Exeter together and were married in 2005. Pauline studied for her Masters and Diploma in Social Work whilst in Exeter and found her true calling.
Pauline lived in Merton for the last 8 years where she loved walking in the Devon countryside. In 2014 the first of her three adorable grandchildren arrived and so begun one of the most wonderful times in her life.
After her diagnosis in 2017, her extended family spent lots of great times together, creating and sharing wonderful memories.
She passed away at North Devon Hospice on the 14th March 2019.
There will be a service at Matthews Hall in Topsham at 2pm on Thursday, 4th April, followed by a celebration of Pauline's life in the Malthouse Room at the Globe Inn, Topsham where teas, coffees and a buffet will be served.
The immediate family will be wearing black but if you wish wear something smart and bright, we would be delighted.
Please note that parking is limited in Topsham so please allow plenty of time to find a space. Where practical we would recommend coming by train from Exeter which run every 25 minutes approximately and the station is a 5 - 10 minute walk from Matthews Hall.
