Charlie Falconer RIP

I first met Charlie when he was a Det. Sgt. at Harrow Road CID and later when he came to C11 as a photo fit officer. These were in the days when only five officers in the Metropolitan Police were qualified to carry out this innovating investigative technique and in this respect he was a trail blazer.

As a Police Federation representative he was a good man to have on your side (not that I had to use him as such). His no nonsense style was very effective, making sure that officers got the support they needed and sparing no effort to ensure that fairness prevailed.

My sadness at Charlies passing is eclipsed only by my inability to attend the funeral and pay my respects personally. My sincere condolences to the family and other close friends and I will be taking a special moment on the 15th March at 1.30pm and waiting to hear Charlie’s voice ringing in my ears saying in his strong Irish accent “I’m telling you Mister”

Rest in peace my friend.

Love to Charlie's family. It will heal in time . On a lighter note, Charlie was my Police Federation (and personal ) friend before a discipline board. He TOLD me to do a wee before I was interviewed. "I don't want one Charlie "
He said, "do one boy, you will be in control". Don't know what he meant but I managed one. Another time we went together to investigate a burglary, we needed the crime prevention officer who was called Stan Miles. For the life of me I tried and tried kept calling him Stan Piles. Charlie and I were so unprofessional we were crying with laughter so much, even the victims of crime started laughing. So so happy times. Nothing said about the secret life of C11, Charlie was a great operator, may he rest in peace.
