In loving memory of David Collis who sadly passed away on 5th February 2019.
A loving, caring family man who always put others first. Although he wasn't the loudest of persons, he left imprints on many lives and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
David had two passions in life, family and football. He always put his girls first, even the family dog, did you know she is all brown which is very rare for a Springer! Ready to be there for us whenever we needed him - be it a lift somewhere or a trip to the shops for emergency cakes! He was the village parcel holder, collecting parcels for every one who was at work. A selfless man who'd never pass up the opportunity to help others.
He endured 6+ hours towing our caravan down to Devon when we were children whilst his 3 girls bickered in the back! He enjoyed his holidays, most recently to our caravan of where he shared many trips with his grandson - who he was extremely proud of and would do anything for, showing him off at every opportunity. Trips to Majorca, to sit on his favourite spot.. on the balcony with his paper!
He spent most of life working hard to support his girls, enduring all our choir performances as we all loved to sing and he loved to be the loudest in the audience cheering us on, sometimes even singing along!
We believe that the Welfare was his religion, it was his second home and he put as much love in that place as he did at home.
We welcome anyone who was part of David's life to attend his funeral and the reception afterwards to celebrate David's life - which will be held at the Cotgrave Welfare.
We kindly request for no flowers, however, donations can be made to the Cotgrave Football Club.
We ask for close family only at the burial.
