Grandad,
What can I say?
Growing up the memories of you may not be so clear,
Although, I’ll never forget our chippy dates; that I will treasure so dear.
Next on to the house clean up; the sight I can not unsee,
Those naked girls in the magazine stirring at me.
The jokes you told where second to none,
But I’m sure up there you’ll carry them on.
So, as the years roll on we became close, even best friends,
As you always told me “Never burn the candle at both ends”.
Now I know the last few years haven’t went to plan,
But I want you to know you I’ll take care of Nan.
Now my pain of your loss may not be on public display,
But behind my smile; life just isn’t the same way.
Grandad, you where a hero to many I know,
But you’ll always be mine each year I grow.
It’s time for this poem to come to an end,
Rest In Peace Grandad; my best friend.
