Dorothy Christine Kesterton (10 Apr 1947 - 10 Feb 2019)
In loving memory of Dorothy Christine Kesterton who sadly passed away on 10th February 2019
My beautiful wife battled for several years with c.o.p.d. going from one hospital to another and in the beginning was coping fine with it never complaining and leading a good and happy life but as the years went on it started to slow her down but still not complaining as she kept a lot of her pain to herself, but with this nasty disease it keeps taking a part of your life every day and making it harder to breath, so in the end she was put on oxygen through the night and still managed to carry on with her life, but again a few months later it got harder for her to breath so she was using more oxygen and taking more tablets till she was taken to hospital unable to breath, but they put her on a niv machine as she was filling with carbon dioxide, the machine did the trick and after a few weeks came home again, knowing she must have this machine on each night for eight hours to keep her alive for the rest of her life, which I must admit she hated it but she did keep it on most of the time, but as time went on she got weaker and was getting more and more infections and in the last three months of her life she went to hospital nearly every week, first it was sepsis with pneumonia and caught ecoli why she was there, came out and after one week was back in with delirium, due to doctors changing her medication to quickly, but after a few days came home only to get dashed into hospital with swine flu, which we were told she would be in hospital for at least three weeks, but after only six days was sent home late evening and after one week was taken into hospital, where she passed away six days later.
I would like to just say that this lady was the strongest person I have ever known as she fought this disease for sixteen years and I can honestly say I am proud to call her my wife and I miss her every second, RIP my little lady, love you xx
