I have 3 great memories of Michael all that occurred at Horley Comprehensive school where we very good friends as you can see below:

1) Michael we all know was on the naughty side. Loveable rogue really. He was a smoker and one Teacher for sure knew this. Every class with this Teacher he would pick on people to turn out their pockets. On one occasion Michael passed over his cigarettes and matches to me and when "picked" again gleefully turned out his empty pockets. That's when we became real friends which Michael re-paid in 2) below.

2) Horley Comp had a certain element of society to deal from "down the road" They would always be hanging around at lunch for "2nds" and "3rds". On one occasion I shouted out a slang term to describe them...all hell broke loose and I was told to expect trouble after school at the main gates. When I walked out that afternoon the only friend with me was Michael.

3) Michael used to whistle the Liver birds song in Physics class to annoy the teacher (of course) . One day the Teacher snapped and was determined to get the culprit. Both Michael and I stitched up an adversary a "goody two shoes" . Boy were we pleased with ourselves...

I stayed on a School for a bit longer than Michael and we parted , but as you can tell those memories live on.
