Thank you to the 400plus people who actually attended the "Celebration of Life" in Southwell Minster for Patrick recently.
Thank you to everyone for their donations .......some on this Memorial Site......others by cheques and cash to my home........plus the many generous donations collected on 25th January before and after the church service at The Minster.
As yet I have to revisit the Funeral Director ......and only then will I fully realise the total raised for Motor Neurone Disease on behalf of Patrick, my late husband.
May all who attended The Minster have the knowledge that Patrick's life on Earth was indeed lived to the full. And now we too must do the same. Life is for living........go on......and live life to the full.
Remember.......Be anything but ordinary........x

So sorry to read about the passing of Patrick. Mr Maiden (as I knew him) was my junior school teacher for 2 years. His teaching skills and musical talents were inspirational. My memories are of a kind, gentle and sincere man. I remember he and Elaine took school trips to Belgium which were a wonderful experience. A true testament to you both that you had 50 wonderful years of marriage and now, at least, you have all those treasured memories to hold on to. My thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time. x

My dearest friend of 52 years, it's hard to believe that we have been friends for such a long time. Patrick has been a wonderful friend, the most intelligent man that we know, who was always able to advise us. We are sorry that we cannot be there to see him off at the end of his life, but he will be very sadly missed. Our deepest condolences to you Elaine, Chris and Mathew, and the rest of the family. All our love always, Tuoni and Geoff xxx

Thinking of you Elaine and your family. I am so happy you managed to make wonderful memories during Patrick's last year. We did the same with Edward. You both traveled the MND road so bravely. Even though I have never met you and Patrick I know you are special people and it has been a pleasure knowing you from afar. Take care. Love Kay, Chantal and family New Zealand. xx

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Patrick for very long, nor did I know him as well as I would have liked, but the warmth and optimism he radiated, despite his illness, made a great impression on me. I shall miss him.
