In loving memory of Philip Gomez who sadly passed away peacefully on 17th November 2018. Affectionately known as "Adolf" by some of his family and friends.
Philip was born to Effie and Wilfred, in Malindi, Kenya in 1940 he moved to Nakuru where he lived with his family; Leslie, Dorothy, Linda, Francis and Felix. He emigrated to England in 1969 to make a life here and lived in South London for most of his life. He married Maureen Laurence and was father to Rita and Wilfred and Grandfather to Joshua, Riaz, Oliver, Deen and Ethan.
Philip worked at Tower Hamlet & City Garages based in Whitechapel, London where he worked up until his retirement. He had a special bond with his grandson's Riaz & Deen as he spent time looking after them in their formative years. Phil enjoyed a happy retirement and spent most of his time at the Maple Tree pub just around the corner from where he lived. If you knew Phil, you knew he liked a tipple and a cigarette as well as watching Formula 1 and sports in general.
His funeral details are on this page and his wake will be held at the Maple Tree Pub, 52-54 Maple Rd, London SE20 8HE please let us know that you can attend. (No flowers - donations to St Christophers Hospice please)
