So sorry to hear of Edith's illness and death. We remember the fun we had at New Years Eves in Asterby. I am lucky in that we have several of her paintings and calligraphy so she will often be in our thoughts. A kind and funny lady. Unfortunately we cannot be at her funeral - I now have serious mobility problems. Love to Walter.

Lovely memories of times spent with Edith in the past, with both our families. A truly kind and gentle friend, with so much artistic talent. I also treasure memories of going out for lunch with her, in Horncastle a couple of years ago, and then spending time with Walter and Edith in their garden, which she loved so much, with my daughter Claire.
Both Claire and I would like to attend the funeral and afterwards at Alford. Sarah would have loved to be there too, but unfortunately is unable to do this. I am sure she would like to send her love to everyone, along with her apologies, and sincere condolences.

Edith became a good friend when I started teaching at Toll Bar. What a talented teacher and artist! We remained in touch, be it just the letter and card at Christmas, for the next 40years. Sadly due to just having had a TKR I will not be attending her funeral

Such happy and fond memories of painting pansies with Edith in Walcott Old Hall kitchen, and sitting in the fields with her at Whitton painting the landscape. She was the kindest, most talented teacher, with a lovely sense of humour. Always encouraging. Edith was a very special person, and I will continue to think of her often.

Sad news! Linda and I have many memories of happier times spent with Edith and Walter. We treasure the art work Edith did for us on several occasions - much of it is still mounted on the walls of our current home - and the gatherings of former colleagues . Our thoughts are with both Walter and Ed at this sad time.
