Cheryl Rose Sheridan (16 Oct 1957 - 7 Nov 2018)
In loving memory of Cheryl Rose Sheridan who sadly passed away on 7th November 2018.
Cheryl was married to Mark Sheridan on 18th August 1984. As a married couple they moved to their family home in Alderholt, Dorset.
They went on and made many amazing friends who they continued to be friends with through all the next stages of their life.
They went on to have two children Charlene and Liam. Their family started to grow. Liam went on to marry Janet on 2nd August 2014 and Charlene married David on 25th October 2014 both at St James Church in Alderholt.
Cheryl then became a nanny to two beautiful boys Callum and James who she doted on and helped to look after.
Then a year ago on Cheryl's 60th birthday her routine bowel screening came back as stage 4 cancer. It was devastating news for all the family.
A note from the family
Our family lived in hope for a year through Cheryls journey of chemo and treatment along with operations.
Then we received even more devastating news, Cheryl would need to be in palliative care as there is nothing else that could be done to help her get better.
As a family we lived everyday as a blessing and the time spent together as a family was so precious and important.
When Cheryl went into the Local Macmillan unit in Christchurch the environment that the hospice created was lovely.
It created a lovely environment to take friends and family in along with children. We were always welcome.
It felt like a community as everyone was there to support the whole family.
Cheryl received outstanding care from the lovely doctors and nurses around the clock all the staff including the amazing volunteers welcomed us all with open arms making us feel comfortable.
The Macmillan garden is a special place with a pond and birds and beautiful flowers, it's the simple things in life like a cuppa tea with your loved ones at this time which helps everyone get through.
Right up until the end we couldnt be more thankful to everyone for the way Cheryl was loved and looked after
Our friend Martyn is doing the IRONMANSTERDAMCHALLENGE in Cheryls name to raise funds for the brick by brick appeal for the local Macmillan Caring Locally unit in Christchurch so thay they can build another building to provide care and support for more people with more space and better facilities. This is why we would like any donation to be made to them to go through this link #doingitforcheryl
