In loving memory of Linda Margaret Clayton who sadly passed away on 4th October 2018.
The unexpected nature of her passing leaves a shocked and devastated husband Stuart, Son Trevor, a close family circle of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Linda was born Linda Tomlin on 12/07/1956, the only child to Ken & Shirley.
Despite a difficult early life Linda developed into a special soul, who throughout her life was always there for people who needed someone.
Two early marriages didn't work out for her, but her first marriage resulted in the birth of her beloved son Trevor who she devoted her life to.
Family meant everything to Linda and she developed strong ties to grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins many of whom lived on Canvey Island and she moved back there to spend her last few years with surviving members, being both support and being supported by Ken, Peggy, Dave and Jan.
In 1992 she met and later married Stuart Clayton. They were to develop a strong loving relationship until her passing.
The last 6 years saw a string of health issues, but despite everything she maintained her great love of family and friends and indeed her local community of neighbours.
Her great joy was that she survived to see the birth of her grandson Oliver earlier this year.
She will be sorely missed by her husband, son, grandson and all her family, friends and neighbours.
Our lives were all the better for knowing her, and we will carry special memories of her in our hearts.

Hi Sweetheart
Missing you more than ever right now with this lockdown, although I am glad your not having to go through this. A difficult time for everyone but we are all OK. Keeping in touch with the families.
Hope you don't mind but decided to post lots of pictures
God bless
Stuart

Hi Hun
Sorry we didn’t make the 20 year anniversary we were planning for. A naff day in the calendar now, miss you lots.
Did the afternoon tea but it wasn’t the same without you. I won’t do another one. Things we did together have lost their gloss. Time to do new things I think.
God bless, Stuart

  • But we did do another tea, slightly different with the social distancing, but just as nice and enjoyed by all. We raised a glass or cuppa to you as without you we wouldn't be getting together as we do. We are all looking out for Stuart and he, as you both always did, is looking out for us too. Freida is well and I even caught Stuart giving her a kiss on her head! Sleep well, love Kaye xx

Hi hun,
I know you probably won’t see this, but you probably don’t hear me when I talk to you either so what the hell.
After much soul searching I went to Lido Di Jesolo with Donna, nieces and great nephews. Chance to get to know some of them better and to let our friends know what happened.
Martino was gutted and Rosa was in tears. Luigi seemed genuinely gutted for me and Maurice/Monica/Brenda were sad for us too. Brenda translated some Italian documents from Colle SAN Magno for me.
I went to our little church where we wanted to renew our vows. It is a lovely little church, would have been ideal. Donna an I lit candles. I may go back for anniversary, not sure yet.
Still got Freida, we both miss you loads. I think Peggy misses you loads as well.
Love you lots
Stuart

Hi hun. It’s been 6 months. Still miss you crazy.
Your boy got married! A new family now.
Hope you liked the photo stand, very popular with others.
Hopefully he will settle down now.
Haven’t got going yet, but looking to start on clearing things out. I will need your guidance.
Point me in the right direction if you can.
Going to Lido with Donna, need to say goodbye to our friends and go to our church.
Sorry we didn’t get to renew our vows there, I will light a candle.
Love you loads
Stuart xxxxxx

The service is over, people are getting on with life.
Though it is different for me, you were my wife.
I still miss you every day, every morning, every night.
The morning kiss, holding hands and the kiss goodnight.
I miss the how was your day? The every day chat.
Not the same with the walls, the dog and the cat.
I miss your opinion, your faith, your trust.
I miss our planning, and now difficult I know that I must.
I guess you'll never know what you meant to me.
It was true, it was honest, it was meant to be.
I hope you are at peace, and trouble free rest.
Though I can’t help any more, I still love you the best.
Thank you for our life and being the better part.
For making me love, and being in my heart.
