I’m memory of Mike a true friend and gentleman

I will be thinking of Mike and his family today. Mike was a lovely man and I had the pleasure of working with him over last few years. I have missed our chats about children (his grandchildren) and gardening efforts (or lack of on my part).

On behalf of Medway Council, I would like to offer condolences to Mike's family. Mike gave his generous support and professional wisdom to schools through his work as a governor, and of late, as chair of New Road Primary School. During his strategic lead, the school blossomed, allowing hundreds of children today to enjoy a quality of education that will prepare them well for the 21st century. The Local Authority are indebted to his service and he will be greatly missed.

I worked with Mike for a number of years and it is true, he was such a gentleman and professional. That said, we also shared many a conversation on our beloved football teams and our children (grandchildren in Mike's case). I am sure he will be missed by many and my thoughts & condolences go to the family x

I had the pleasure of working with Mike when he was my Policy Officer with the Kent Police Authority. He was the ultimate professional and provided such great support to me. More recently he provided support to me as a member of the Police and Crime Panel - again so calm and professional. He will be greatly missed.

It was a pleasure to have known you and such a sad loss. Rest in Peace.

In loving memory of our dear friend Mike. You faced that final hurdle with such courage and dignity and you were an inspiration to us all. We will but remember with fondness the happy times which we shared together. Good wine, good food, and good conversation. You were a special friend, Mike, and we will miss you but our lives were made more special by having known you.

I was fortunate enough to work with Mike for nearly ten years, during which time he taught me a great deal, mainly by example. He was incisive, calm, pragmatic and had a dry sense of humour, and was a true professional. Above all, he adored his family and we spent a great deal of time sharing pictures of his beautiful grandchildren. He will be hugely missed.
