In loving memory of Keith Andrews who sadly passed away on 28th October 2018.
Keith was the eldest of three children with brother Ivan and sister Thelma growing up in Bradpole, Dorset.
Keith was called-up to join the Army at 18 and undertook basic training in Catterick and also in Ireland. He was involved in the D-day landings seeing action as a motorcycle-messenger. During fierce fighting at Tilly-sur-Seulles Keith was seriously injured and shipped back to Gosport hospital before being moved to Hexham hospital in Northumberland. He was in hospital for two and a half years undergoing many operations and told tales of the adventures they all had including raiding the kitchens at night, racing in wheelchairs and racing on crutches.
Keith met his wife Audrey in hospital and they married in 1950 and moved back to Dorset. Keith became a skilled carpenter and worked with his father on building sites never letting his injuries affect what he did. He enjoyed his garden but especially his cars and pottering in the garage or shed.
Keith and Audrey moved to Verwood about 35 years ago to enjoy a long and happy retirement including celebrating their Diamond wedding anniversary. Keith spent many hours playing with and looking after his two grand-daughters and more recently enjoying his two great grand-children.
Keith and Audrey have spent a very happy 68 years of marriage and have been together for 70 years - Keith will be very sadly missed by everyone who knew him ...... but especially by Audrey and his family.
