I am saddened to hear of Dr Watt's passing, I only knew him for a short time, in which he inspired me with his specialist knowledge and passion for it. Rest in peace.

Hi. If you are Alan's daughter, I'm a very old friend of your dads. In fact I was his best man in Aberdeen. I was trying to look him up for the last couple of years and now it's obvious why I couldn't manage it. I only found out from another friend in Dundee that your grandad died very recently and that your dad passed two years ago. If your mum is still alive, please pass on my condolences. I know that Alan had three daughters and a son and was very ill back in his twenties. I only saw him once after his illness. We were close friends in the seventies and eighties. He was one of the good guys. Best wishes Eric
