In loving memory of Patricia Ellen Leath (nee Farrow) who sadly passed away on 17th September 2018 with her loving family at her bedside.

Patricia was born in 1949, the daughter of the late Edward Victor and Madge Farrow (nee Blockley), she was a graduate of St Osyths Teacher Training College in Clacton-Upon-Sea in 1970. She married her sweetheart Roger Leath who she met when she was sixteen waiting at the train station, they were married for 49 years and had three children.

She had the patience of a saint. She always put her family first. A devoted Teacher, Wife, Mother, Gran and Sister. She retired to Spain when she was 52 and spent the last 17 years travelling, gardening, dining out, spending time with friends, thrashing her friends and family at bowling, playing scrabble on her Nintendo D.S., reading on her Kindle and listening to the Archers.

Pat loved listening to Woman's hour and the Archers on Radio 4, Lurpack butter, comfortable shoes, tidiness, neat writing, Polo's, the colour red, and Embassy No.1.

The Myth, the Legend. Now reunited with her mum and dad. She will be dearly missed by all she knew.

Hi Mum, hope your having fun wherever you are. Mia, William, Evan & Ryan just smashed sports day and all got 1st place in a race. Laura just got a B at Uni, Matthew got through too! Laura is looking after your car and taking care of it. Dad is trying to keep the place tidy. I am trying to count to 10 when I need to. Sonja is still looking after the bath mat for you. I am trying to have two minutes looking out of the new corner window view. Just wanted to say I love you, thanks for everything mum, I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for you! See you in my dreams. Lots of love and hugs xxx Victoria

Mum taught us to be practical. Weather she got right every time, take a brolly it'll rain later, words much ignored and at home wet through mum would stoke the fire never saying I told you so. Achievements, her laugh would be high, trilling and her smile wide. Mum would take your face in her hands and smile right into your soul. Sad and difficult days mum would steadfastly stick to routine, a comforting tone in her voice. Mum wouldn't dwell but would act "well I better get swept up" Holidays mum would excel, the family windbreak and sand sandwiches passed round. Mum ensured everything was fair. Decisions and disagreements were met with mum's way, the passing of time and knowledge that all things change. Mum could sing a song like a nightingale, as a child I'd watch fascinated by her range and ability.
A strong determined mother bear our beds were immaculately made our porridge the right temperature, the love tangible in the house. Tidyness and organisation her middle names, Mum was adaptable, when struggling to find Hoover bags in spain she bought a stapler and reused the original. Advice was always gentle each of us knowing we could choose our own path. Mum was so tender she had immense strength, like the mighty oak versus the grass she would bend and sway and never break. Mum will freshen the breeze, brighten the skies and awaken the stars.
