In loving memory of Kath Jackson who sadly passed away on 26th September 2018.The dearly loved wife of the late Pete Jackson, dear mum of Trish and mother-in-law of Wayne, also, the much loved nana of Sapphir, Shannice, Jackson, Oakley, Rio and Derren.
Mum was born on the 13th April 1953 and grew up in scathworth with her parents Lilian and Arthur, sisters Jean, Anne, Eileen and Sylvia, Mum had various jobs over the years starting at the petrol station in Bawtry, this is when she met my Dad, after a few years of happiness together Dad popped the question and they married on the 27th January 1973 they bought the house that we still live in today and after 7 years I was born. We created a loving caring hardworking family, sadly Dad passed on the 11th January 1991 when Mum was only 38 years old we were left broken our back bone had gone, Mum and I had a bond no one could break, over the years we traveled on holidays including the USA, days out and spent invaluable time together becoming inseparable. At 16 I met Wayne and went on to give Mum 6 granchildren Sapphir, Shannice, Jackson, Oakley, Rio and Derren all of which my mum loved and adored more than anyone will ever know. Mum stopped working in 2008 due to her health and problems with her back, she carried on being the most amazing mum and Nana that anyone could wish for, we traveled as a family to Tenerife Malta, Spain, Disneyland and many destinations in the uk.mum also enjoyed holidays in Blackpool and Paignton with her Aunty Hannah and to Tenerife and Scotland with her sister in law Sheila. She liked to see the Edinburgh tattoo.
In April 2009 mums sister Ann passed away. Ann had lived with her Aunty Kath for many years and Aunty Kath found it hard to cope on her own. When she eventually moved into a care home in Bircotes Mum visited her daily and was also with her to comfort and hold her hand when she passed away. I am so proud of mum for her selfless attitude in being there for her auntie whilst fighting her own illnesses. Mum loved Bingo, playing locally in the village and on a Wednesday with her Aunty Hannah at what she called Aunty Hannah’s bingo and Mecca in Doncaster she would get anyone she met signed up so she could get a free dinner and all her tickets for a fiver as her reward the next time she attended this included both Sapphir and Shannice’s Boyfriends Matthew and Dylan. Toby Carvery was another must for Mum taking the kids when it was their birthdays was never missed and this is something we will continue to do. In 2016 Mum unfortunately became paraplegic, this did not stop her she became the most powerful woman on earth, the bravest living her life to the highest. Train rides for days out to York, cleethorpes, Skegness to name just a few, only a few weeks ago we were in Tenerife, we flew on the Dreamliner ungraded to premium seats and had a lovely holiday I’m sure many would have never deemed possible. After getting home mums health started to decline and my heart was broken into a thousand pieces
My Mum my inspiration my best friend my everything I will always love you and treasure the amazing memories I hold in my heart, you fought right to the end defining the rules and beating things the drs never thought possible.. all because you’re my MuM xx
