Iris was a resident of Rainham and the Medway towns for most of her life she was a strong and courageous lady bearing her health problems with a smile and positivity and fought bravely to the end.
The daughter of an army family, attending army schools where she passed the exam for entry to a technical school.
She was one of three children born to Arthur Charles and Amelia Alexander Maud Lander, her older sister Molly is no longer with us but her baby brother Colin lives in Scotland.
Iris is survived by her two daughters Maureen and Gill, granddaughters Lisa Kerry and Samantha and great granddaughters Kirsty, Lydia, Eleanor, Tiana, Shanae, Poppy and Maisie.
Iris loved music, in her early days she liked dancing she was also a great knitter and embroidered many things, Iris loved spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren; she also liked spending time with her many friends.
A regular attendee at her local church, Iris touched the lives of many people over her long and full ninety one and a half years. She was kind and generous, loved a good tale and could tell many good yarns too.
