After working for the National Coal Board, Ken decided to retrain as a teacher at Wolverhampton and in 1962 he was appointed as a lecturer at Burton Technical College and worked there until he retired in the early 1990s.
Elaine and husband Bill Pritchard gave him two grandchildren - Caitlin and Tom.
Caitlin married Alex and great-grandson Zach was born in 2017.
Apart from Norma and his family his big loves were horse racing, Laurel and Hardy and the music hall.

Ken was my lecturer at college. He was a lovely guy, always friendly and helpful.
Latterly I’ve seen him and Norma in the Jinnie are many occasions and he’s always said hello and compared how often we were both in there. I’m just sorry I can’t be there at the funeral today to pay my respects in person. RIP Ken.
