In loving memory of Carole Hedges who sadly passed away on 16th September 2018.
Carole Dalley was born in Nottingham on 28th January 1944. However she spent her early years in Cornwall living with her Mum, Pem, and Dad, Tom at the London Inn in Truro where her parents were landlords. Sadly her two siblings Tommy and Jean died in childhood.
As a teenager she returned to Nottingham where she lived with her parents at The Royal Children Pub next to St Mary's church. She went to Clarendon college to get a typing qualification, but then worked for her Dad training to manage pubs, working at The famous Trip to Jeruslaem and Salutation Inn.
She Married John Hedges at the church across the road and went to live in Shipley Rise, Carlton. She had two daughters, Susan and Julie. At this time she worked as a delivery driver to the local butcher and then in the cash office at Securicor in West Bridgford.
After a divorce Carole then moved to her long time home in Pavilion Court, Lowdham where she lived very happiliy tending her garden. She also moved jobs and worked at Jessops / John Lewis in the cash office for many years until she retired.
Carole's Best friend for over 50 years was Irene Bee and they went on many day trips and holidays together, especially to Cornwall and the Newquay area
Carole has lived with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for many years, dealing with 2 courses of chemotherapy and ongoing treatment, but she remained independent and active to the end of her life.
She leaves behind Susan and Julis her Daughters, Cousin Lynne, and grandsons, Ben and Daniel and all her friends.
