In loving memory of Anthony John Finnis
who sadly passed away on Saturday 15th September 2018.
Tony lived a joyful life with his family. He worked hard and enjoyed working on the railway for many years. He enjoyed many holidays with his wife and their friends and family. Tony enjoyed a game of golf and played many rounds over the years.
He will be dearly missed by his loving family and many friends. Tony was a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Tony was a loving and caring husband to Jessica, they were happily married for 50 years. Tony supported Jessica through many difficult times and she supported him through his ups and downs in life. Along with Jessica they raised their children, Lisa and Jim and loved them dearly. Both children married and Tony was very proud of each of them for their life accomplishments. Tony played a big part in his grandchilderns life, he loved having his girls on the weekends, you could tell he was always meant to be a grandfather. He would spoil them with days out and take them on holidays and drove them here there and everywhere. Tony was delighted to have become a great grandfather and spoilt the newest addition rotten. Little Gracie was the apple of his eye and he filled his home with photos of her and talked about her everyday. Tony was always a family man providing and putting the family first and that will never be forgotten and the family will be forever grateful for all he has done for them.
Tony passed away at 70 years of age after battling dementia. The disease took hold very quickly and it became clear that Tony had a fight before him. Jessica cared for Tony in their home for aslong as she could but Tony needed specialist care. All of Tonys carers liked him instantly, he would make them all laugh and be cheeky just like the Tony he always was. Tony remained strong and fought with every inch of him untill the end. Tony passed very peacefully and painfree in a loving home with his wife, daughter and grandaughters by his side. Dementia is such a cruel disease with its terrible effect it has on its victim but also the devastating journey loved ones have to go through.
Tony will be dearly missed but his memory and laughter will live on.
May Tony rest at peace.
