Dave, friend to all, my fabulous neighbour, absolutely lovely man who was always there for everyone. You had a presence that made everyone sit up & take notice. My heart sinks when I leave my front door & know I will never see your lovely face again and wave good morning as you drive off with your beautiful wife. It's going to be a difficult day & one that shouldn't be happening after every thing you've gone through. These 9 years I've lived here I've come to know what amazing husband to lovely Lozza, amazing dad, grandad, uncle etc. But your strength & guidance has left them with the knowledge of how to carry on in your memory. We will look after Lozza and the gang. RIP now you're free from pain. Love Suzanne, Kai & Lily xx

Struggling to find the words to say how incredible you was not just to me but to everyone that was lucky enough to meet you, you was the most perfect dad anyone could ever ask for and I would be honoured to even be half the dad you was, I have to thank you also for what you’ve done for my little boy because his eyes never lit up so much to see you sitting there waiting for him to run through the door and I’m sure he will never forget that, there’s a emptiness now that you’ve gone but you’ve made us all strong and you’ve continuously pulled us all together, hoping we can make you proud dad/grandad, We miss you so much already, We will never forget you, we love you so much, Jord and Cruz.

Uncle Dave, the memories I have of you I will hold close to my heart, they are nothing but amazing ones of you, a kind, funny man who always made people laugh and adored by many, I was convinced you wore makeup while working down the pit, so will always remember those black eyes, stay safe up there and ill promise to make sure your Big lad is ok x x
