In loving memory of Christopher Nigel Stone, who sadly passed away on 12th September 2018.

Dad grew up in Northwich. He was the youngest son of George and Gwen, with brothers Barry, and Graham, who survives him. He became a keen pub darts player, and anecdotes suggest he got up to all sorts of mischief here, with best mate Dave too. He moved to Wiltshire as a young man. It was here he would stay, bringing up Paul and Adam with Christine in Salisbury, whilst developing a lifelong fondness for dismantling perfectly good motorbikes and shouting at the TV. In recent years he moved to Devizes, with Denise, where he proudly organised home beer festivals, and went on rather more energetic walks than he was prepared for with dog Darwin.

He spent his working life with aircraft; beginning as an RAF apprentice, working for the MOD, freight company Channel Express, and most recently he was an integral member of flight training team, Babcock.

He will be dearly missed. We hope Michael's Wood natural burial ground would have appealed to his love of the outdoors. (Dress code: black optional, colours welcome). There is also a wake afterwards, contact Paul or Adam for further details. Any donations to Alzheimer’s society please; a charity that was very important to him.

Thank you for our many years together in Devizes. It is so difficult now to believe you won't walk in with Darwin, your beloved dog, in tow. Or to see you sat in your chair with him on your lap, even though he was much too large to be there.
We had so many great times, exciting trips, working on the house, creating a beautiful garden together, enjoying your cooking even the experimenting, so many fun times and jokes.
You truly had such a kind heart and would help anyone. One in a million.  Dee xxx

We met in 1975 thanks to one of Dave's chat-up lines and had many good years together. I thank you for our two wonderful sons and know you will live on through them. I will remember the practical jokes and the constant sight of everything in bits. If it could be taken apart, it was! I will always remember the happy times. Ride wild and free. Love Mrs Chris x

I think it was 1967 when our paths crossed when we joined 146f squadron of the Air Training Corps and soon became family friends. We knocked about doing all the things you should and shouldn't do, we had a few beers, always worked on his bikes, did the doors for Status Quo (in their early days), we were invited backstage with the German rock band 'The Scorpions'. We travelled around going on holiday to Majorca, Hereford to see Barry, hitchhiked to London to see Led Zeppelin. It was in Hereford where (Ged - sorry I still can't say Chris') met Christine in 1975?, and I was his best man when they married.
When he moved to Wiltshire, the visits were few and far between, but we kept in touch. As respective families grew older, it was possible to visit more often, and even managed to get away to France, Crete and a few weekends in the Lakes or Peak District.
It's hard to decide what to say and a lot I can't.
Other than family, Ged is probably the only other person I would have trusted my life to. You don't get that type of opportunity very often. He was my mate! RIP Ged, you'll be missed.
